- תַּשִּׁישm. (תְּשַׁש) weak, frail, sick. Koh. R. to V, 12, v. כָּפִין. Y.Ber.II, 4b top בגין דאנא ת׳ ואנאוכ׳ because I am feeble (old), and I become drowsy when reading the Shmʿa Ib. V, 9d top כד הוה ת׳וכ׳ when he felt too weak (to pronounce the priestly benediction), he tied his head up Y.Sabb.VI, 8c bot. סלקון … דהוה ת׳ they went to visit R. A., who was sick. Y.M. Kat. III, 83d top שמע דר׳ חנינא ת׳ heard that R. H. was sick; a. e.Pl. תַּשִּׁישִׁין, תַּשִּׁישִׁי. Lev. R. s. 5, end מה תורי … ת׳ how are the oxen? Said he, they are sick; a. e.Cant. R. to V, 16 לתשישין, read: לתְשוּשִׁין, v. תָּשֵׁש.
